BIOGRAPHY

Ken Austin is a Western Australian country rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter who writes and plays a mixture of original and cover songs.

In the late 1980's and early 1990's, Ken played the Western Australian pub scene in two cover bands "Mixed Bag" and " Full Tilt". After taking a break from the live circuit for a few years, he rekindled his passion for playing live music and formed a 4-piece band called "Jump the Gap", which played hit covers from the 1960's until now. Ken then decided to go solo and travel whilst playing around Western Australia. He followed his dream of hitting the road as a solo artist and playing some great venues around the country, meeting great people, and spending some time writing original music. 2024 was Ken's fifth year on the road, playing music, sightseeing, and having a really great time.

Ken recorded a demo of his debut album "My Never Ending Road" in 2021 and decided to go back into the studio in 2022 and re-record the songs with backing music and vocals. He also added a new original and cover song to put together the 10-track album "My Never Ending Road".

The opening track from "My Never Ending Road" titled "Missing You" was recognised as one of the Top 30 out of 1300 entries in the WAM Songwriter of the Year 2022 competition, Country genre. Original songs "​Missing You" and "Footprints in the Sand" have also had airtime on Waringarri Radio, Kununurra, and 89.7FM Perth.

Ken is currently focusing on touring Perth and the West Coast of Australia, whilst writing new music.
